On Saturday, August 10, a panel of expert physicians and surgeons will come together at The National to review cases and engage in a stimulating conversation about how they would approach a given scenario. The discussion promises to be both lively and practical. “I love stuff that people can take home on Monday and use,” said APMA Treasurer and panel moderator Patrick DeHeer, DPM. “The audience will get to see the presenters’ process for going through a complicated case and determining how best to treat it, and that process translates to all patients.”
The panel includes Patrick Burns, DPM; Luke Cicchinelli, DPM; Daniel Hatch, DPM; Alton Johnson Jr., DPM; Ellianne Nasser, DPM; John Steinberg, DPM; and Mitzi Williams, DPM, representing a wide range of practice expertise.
Drs. Burns, Hatch, and Nasser will cover complex surgical cases; Drs. Johnson and Steinberg will address complex wound care and limb salvage cases; and Dr. Williams will share pediatric congenital deformity cases. “The cases are relatively challenging cases,” Dr. DeHeer said, “and having different people discuss their thought process will really add a lot.”
The panel will conclude with audience Q&A as time permits, and Dr. DeHeer believes the format is a great way to learn what you won’t find in any textbook. “This is a world-class faculty, and learning from their experience really shortens your pathway to getting to that level of competency.”
