Dear Members:
I am excited to announce that APMA is moving its headquarters in a change that will bring benefits to members and staff alike.
APMA purchased its current headquarters building at 9312 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, MD, in 1987. In the ensuing 36 years, the building has served us well. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, many APMA employees maintained part- or full-time remote work schedules. This paradigm shift in the modern workforce made the costs of maintaining an aging office building an unnecessary burden on our member dues dollars.
The APMA Board of Trustees approved the sale of the building to a local school that plans to remodel it. APMA plans to move into a new, downsized headquarters space in Rockville, MD, in January 2024. Staff will be readily available to our members during this transition, both by phone and email. Members should notice no change in our commitment to outstanding service. You may continue to direct any physical mail to our current address until further notice.
Our new workspace is modern and well-equipped, and staff will all be together on one floor. This space will allow our professional staff to be even more efficient and effective on your behalf. We look forward to sharing more with you as we move into our new space this winter!
Sincerely,
James R. Christina, DPM
