The APMA Board of Trustees held its winter meeting this weekend and heard reports from a variety of organizations and committees. Among those groups was the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force that has been working to ensure that the rich diversity of APMA’s membership is reflected in everything the association does, from hiring staff to planning member education. The board voted to approve a proposal from the task force to create a long-term committee to address DEI.
Also during the meeting, APMA recognized the outstanding contributions of Immediate-Past President Seth Rubenstein, DPM, who attended his last meeting at APMA headquarters as a member of the Board of Trustees. APMA and the profession are deeply indebted to Dr. Rubenstein for his long-term commitment, his extraordinary professionalism, and his remarkable leadership throughout the pandemic.
