For those podiatrists looking for more in-depth learning than a standard lecture when they attend a foot and ankle conference, the APMA 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting (The National) offers three hands-on workshops.

“Workshop 1: Ultrasound” will take place on Friday, July 15, from 1:30–5:30 p.m., with instructor Nathan H. Schwartz, DPM, and co-instructor Benjamin D. Levine, MD. Participants will learn the latest ultrasound techniques and practice using the technology to diagnose a variety of conditions. The cost to attend is $200. APMA has designated an unrestricted educational grant from Universal Imaging, Inc., to support this workshop. (Update: Workshop 1 is full!)

If you are interested in learning more about ankle arthroscopy, Saturday, July 16, is the day for you. “Workshop 2: Introduction to Ankle Arthroscopy,” will take place from 7–9:30 a.m. and “Workshop 3: Advanced Ankle Arthroscopy” will be held from 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Both sessions are led by Patrick R. Burns, DPM, with co-instructors Stephen D. Palmer, DPM, and David A. Yeager, DPM. The combined five hours of instruction will give participants direct, hands-on experience with the procedure. Each workshop costs $250. APMA has designated an unrestricted educational grant from Smith & Nephew to support these workshops.
